Persons of the Month

Patrick Shelton

A long time member of the leather club Pat is presently in the process of making something like 13 custom belts for friends and family.
Pat is also our lucky Irishman who makes the rounds every St. Patrick's Day providing green carnations to not only the ladies of the club, but also those who live near by. He is a wonder to behold in his Kelly Green suit.  We love seeing him.  Thank you, Pat

Terry Wells
Terry is a regular at the leather club.  He is one of a few members who not only tool leather but also wear the items they make.
Terry is displaying the chaps he made for Cowboy Shooting.  Terry, along with a number of other members participate in the local events at Ben Avery Range.  If you haven't witnessed these events you should really go watch. (Bring really good earplugs.)
Terry is very creative, making backpacks, purses, wall hangings, etc.

Allen Bird

Allen is not only a Cowboy Shooter, but is actually a real cowboy.  Coming from Wyoming, when not in the SCW, he runs cattle and produces quality leather items for Wyomingites.
When here in the SCW he makes scabbards, holsters, purses, and more.
Allen is also our resident head instructor.  He teaches New Member Classes, staining, airbrushing, and how to use the Cobra 4 sewing machine.  He's quite a busy guy.

The Art of Leather Carving & Tooling

Leather crafting offers fun and rewards to all that partake of this adventure.  The history of leather dates back to the beginning of mankind when leather was vital for survival, providing protection against the elements, when animal skins were used as clothing and footwear.

Today, leather continues to be used for clothing, belts, wallets, purses, electronic equipment, even furniture.

Joining leather crafting will open an entirely new world of fun and entertainment.
Stop by & visit a group that  loves to share their craft, you just might be glad you did!
