Leather Club has 2 working industrial sewing machines available for use. Each machine requires different methods of operation and can easily malfunction. Repairs are extremely expensive, therefore we require all members to attend a training class in the use of these machines. Sign up is required to use the machines.

attentionWe ask members to please not change the tension, bobbins or thread, but to ask those people designated to do so. This will (hopefully) ensure the machine remains in working order.
Cobra Class 20 This machine sews lighter weight leather: purses, wallets, key chains, etc.
|
Cobra Class 4This machine sews pretty much everything made in the clubroom. It sews through a number of thicknesses.
This machine was purchased through fund raising efforts. |
Please follow the directions attached to the machine when running, threading, and bobbin winding. We do not want the other machines to go the way of our past machines.
NEVER turn any of the machines' wheels backwards! This ruins the clutch and renders the machine useless.
Reminders:
NEVER turn any of the machines' wheels backwards! This ruins the clutch and renders the machine useless.
Reminders:
- Hold the threads tightly when beginning to sew
- Raise the Presser foot when done sewing & Pull the threads backward
- Don't force your material through; this bends the needle
